Hair rock was big in the 80s. Bands like Whitesnake, Poison, Europe
and Bon Jovi had big hits: uptempo rock songs and smooth rockballads.
The era of hair rock ended when Grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam) became
mainstream and redefined the image of rock. Few hair rock bands
survived and those who did, altered their sound and image.
